The Malleus Maleficarum: The Hammer of Witches

In 1487, two Dominican friars published the Malleus Maleficarum—The Hammer of Witches. This manual for identifying, interrogating, and executing witches became the blueprint for the European witch hunts. It claimed women were more susceptible to witchcraft due to their 'weaker nature.' It justified torture. It murdered tens of thousands. We study it not to glorify, but to remember why we must never let such hatred rise again.
